Build Your Own Wind Turbine at Home With Ease

For those that don't know wind and solar energy can drastically reduce the cost of your energy bills and not only that but they're environmental friendly. A few years ago I thought of building my own wind turbine but I had no idea where to start and what components I would need for my DIY project. These days everything is more at hand so are the DIY guides that are packed with all the information you need to build a fully functional wind turbine all by yourself in your own backyard.

I've decided to do a little research in order to find a solid guide that would teach me step-by-step how to build a wind generator with ease. However not all the guides that are available are necessarily efficient. A solid guide should teach you not only the basic things on wind generators but where to get the materials from, how to install a fully functional wind turbine. The guide should come with a tech support just in case of any troubleshooting.

What I had to do first was to understand how the whole system works and analyze each of the parts and what they're supposed to do. The most basic parts of a wind generator are the blades, body and the tower. The blades can easily be made with PVC pipe and the hub can be made out of a pulley which you can get at your local hardware store for a few dollars. In fact the whole system should not cost you more than two hundred dollars altogether.

The leftover PVC can also be used to build the blades. Once you have the blades ready they will be attached to the body and the same goes for the motor. A step-by-step guide should teach you how to attach the blades to the underside area of the body. Last but not least you need to build the tower of your wind turbine which is the most important part of the whole wind generator. You can get a free wind generator tower by using your old TV tower so you won't have to spend any more money. In fact I've got mine from my neighbors and even got paid $50 for taking it off their house.

This is just an overview for building a wind turbine with ease and I'm sure you're interested to reduce your electricity bills just like everyone else in is in these hard economical times and not only but a wind generator will protect the environment for you and lots of generations to come. Building a wind turbine isn't that hard at all and by going green it doesn't mean you have to pay thousands of dollars.

Imagine how much you will be saving on your energy bills by building your own wind turbine and not only that but you'll get the experience and a sense of accomplishment.
